shortcake biscuits

From the Recipe Box of: Lee Palmer Wandel

Recipe Story:

This recipe comes from the Scottish side of my family, my great grandmother.  It is very simple and foolproof.  For as long as I can remember, this biscuit was the shortcake in the summer treat, strawberry shortcake: piles of fresh strawberries, cut in half, and set to soak in a mixture of a little water, a little lemon juice, and a little sugar (all according to taste); and this biscuit, cut in half in a bowl, with the strawberries over the half and then the top; and a scoop of home-whipped cream.
